Cookie Policy

A plain-English explanation of the cookies we use and how you can manage them.

Last updated: April 24, 2025 · This policy applies to jinxapp.co and app.wejinx.io.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit — such as whether you're logged in — and to understand how you interact with the site over time.

Cookies can be "session cookies" (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent cookies" (stored on your device until they expire or you delete them).

2. How We Use Cookies

We use cookies for the following purposes:

2.1 Essential Cookies

These cookies are strictly necessary for the Service to function. Without them, features like staying logged in or accessing a secure event gallery would not work. You cannot opt out of essential cookies.

  • Session cookie: Keeps you authenticated while you're logged in as a host. Expires when you close your browser or log out.
  • CSRF token: Protects forms against cross-site request forgery attacks. Session-based.
  • Event access cookie: Remembers that a guest has entered a valid entry code for a specific event. Expires after 7 days.

2.2 Functional Cookies

These cookies improve your experience by remembering your preferences, but are not strictly essential. You can disable them, though doing so may affect some functionality.

  • Preference cookie: Remembers your UI preferences (e.g., display settings). Expires after 1 year.

2.3 Analytics Cookies

We use anonymized analytics cookies to understand how visitors use our site — for example, which pages are most visited or where users drop off. This data helps us improve the Service. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics cookies.

  • Analytics session: Tracks an anonymized session to understand page flows. Expires after 30 minutes of inactivity.
  • Analytics device: Distinguishes returning visits from new visits using an anonymous identifier. Expires after 2 years.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not share cookie data with ad networks.

3. Third-Party Cookies

When you make a payment, our payment processor may place cookies on your device as part of the secure checkout process. These are governed by the payment processor's own cookie and privacy policies.

Our site loads fonts from Google Fonts. Google may set cookies as part of this service. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Managing Cookies

You can manage and delete cookies through your browser settings. The following links provide instructions for the most common browsers:

Please note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging into your host account or accessing event galleries.

5. Do Not Track

Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Jinx! currently does not respond to DNT signals, as there is no industry-wide standard for how to interpret them. We will update this policy if that changes.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service constitutes your acceptance of any changes.

7. Contact
